Over the years, Emergency Medicine in India has witnessed remarkable progress, evolving into a robust and well-structured specialty. The Emergency Medicine Association (EMA) has been at the forefront of this transformation, playing a crucial role in shaping the academic and clinical landscape of Emergency Medicine. Through its persistent efforts in advocacy, accreditation, and academic integration, EMA has successfully supported the implementation of MD and DNB Emergency Medicine programs across the country, strengthening training standards and professional recognition of the specialty.

Kerala has emerged as a significant contributor to this national advancement. With a strong academic foundation and multiple training institutions, the state has produced a substantial number of skilled Emergency Physicians who are now serving across India and beyond. This reflects Kerala’s commitment to excellence in emergency care, medical education, and healthcare innovation.
